Shipping News Feature

LOS ANGELES – Following on from London Heathrow’s announcement earlier this month that air freight seemed to be picking up slightly, Los Angeles LAX airport has also confirmed that they too have seen a slight increase in tonnage.

Although LAX’s July figures are down 9.9% compared to last year, freight moved is actually up 1 percent from June, the third month-to-month increase for the airport.

With just under 135,000 tons moved, July was LAX’s busiest month since October 2008.
