JAPAN – SINGAPORE – Ocean Network Express (ONE), the proposed container shipping joint venture between K Line, MOL and NYK has formally announced its senior team. Jeremy Nixon, Chief Executive Officer - Global Liner Management Division of NYK Group South Asia and Corporate Officer at NYK Line, has tendered his resignation ahead of his new role as the Chief Executive Officer of ONE, which will be headquartered in Singapore. Additionally, a Director from each company: NYK's Yasuki Iwai, MOL's Hiroki Tsujii, and K Line's Noriaki Yamaga, will each become a Director of the joint venture.

The holding company will be set up in Japan and will consist of:

  • ONE Representative Director/Chairman – Masahiro Tanabe, Executive Vice President and Representative Director at MOL
  • ONE Representative Director/Vice Chairman – Hidetoshi Maruyama, Director and Senior Managing Corporate Officer at NYK
  • ONE Representative Director/Vice Chairman – Toshiyuki Suzuki, Senior Managing Executive Officer, Representative Director at K Line
  • ONE Director – Hiroki Harada, Corporate Officer at NYK
  • ONE Director – Yukikazo Myochin, Director at K Line
  • ONE Director – Akihiko Ono, Senior Managing Executive Officer at MOL

Takafumi Kido, currently an Executive Officer at K Line will become Representative Director/President of Ocean Network Express, Japan, effective September 30.

INDIA – Wärtsilä India has appointed Neeraj Sharma as its new President and Managing Director.

US – Celadon Group has named Paul Svindland as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective July 24. Dvindland, who was unanimously appointed by the company’s Board of Directors, succeeds Paul Will, who will retire as CEO and Chairman of the Board but will remain as a consultant to Celadon through July 2018.

Additionally, Lead Independent Director of the Board and Chairman of the Compensation committee, Michael Miller, will replace Will as Chairman. Miller is expected to serve as Chairman during a search process to additional Independent Directors, including a new Board Chair.

US – Insurance broker, Lockton Marine has announced Christina Zapantoulis as leader of its Marine Team in its Northeast US Operations, based in New York City.

US – Tideworks Technology has announced the appointment of Thomas Rucker as President, effective September 1, following the retirement of Michael Schwank, who has led the company for the last 19 years. Rucker is currently vice president of operations at Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT), one of the largest container terminals in Latin America. He will relocate to Seattle in August to ensure a smooth transition.

US – AAR has announced Michael Milligan as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective September 1, replacing Timothy Romenesko, who will retire at the end of the year. He will work closely with Milligan as he transitions into his new role.

EUROPE – La Palette Rouge (LPR), European pallet pooling provider and a division of Euro Pool Group, has announced the appointments of Stephen Ambroziak as Business Contracts Manager, Erik Langendam as Country Manager for LPR BNL in s’Hertogenbosh, Netherlands, and José Antonio del Olmo as Sales Directorate of LPR Spain.

Ambroziak, based in the UK, will focus on developing the company’s existing customer relationships and will look for ways of maximising the support it offers to its current clients in this newly created role. He has a long history in the logistics industry having previously worked at Potter Logistics, DHL, and TNT.

In the Netherlands, Langendem joined LPR as Country manager in May, with a background in the Retail and FMCG sectors. LPR Ibérica named del Olmo as its new Sales Manager to replace Álvaro Molino, who will be continuing his career at in Euro Pool Group's other division as Country Manager of Euro Pool System UK.

UK – The DX Group has announced plans to reorganise the business to create two divisions: DX Express, to be led by DX's existing Chief Operations Officer, Nick Cullen, and DX Freight, to be headed by Stuart Godman, currently Chief Commercial Officer. Both will report directly to the Board.

As part of the reorganisation, Chief Executive Officer, Petar Cvetkovic, and Finance Director, Daljit Basi, will both be stepping down from the Board and the company. James Hayward, FCA, has been appointed as interim Chief Financial Officer (a non-Board appointment). These changes are effective immediately.

NORWAY – The Board of Directors of GC Rieber has appointed Christian Berg as its new CEO. Berg's newly established venture, Bech Offshore will now become part of GC Rieber Shipping and will take on his new position in mid-August. Berg has more than 20 years’ experience in the oil service industry and prior to Bech Offshore, he spent 6 years as CEO of Viking Supply Ships.

He will succeed Acting CEO of GC Rieber Shipping, Einar Ytredal who will return to his permanent position as CFO of the company. Acting CFO Øystein Kvåle will at the same time return to his position in GC Rieber.

RUSSIA – Vyborg Shipyard has elected Aleksandr Neigebauer as its Chairman of the Board of Directors.
