UK – Following a tremendously successful inaugural event last year the 2018 Freight Transport Association (FTA) Logistics Awards are set to return again to London in December and are maintaining the theme of having a highly talented comedic figure as the celebratory host, with one of the best-known faces on British and Irish TV, Dara O'Briain, in the chair this year overseeing the eleven award categories.

The host of such popular shows as Mock the Week, Star Gazing Live and Robot Wars manages to combine the talents of both humour and intellect as he brings his undoubtedly unique sense of comedy to the evening for an exclusive performance, in addition to presenting this year’s awards. Support will come in the form of Chris Grayling MP and currently Secretary of State for Transport, one presumes as the straight man.

Dara O'Briain started his career in childrens’ television as a presenter, and rapidly added award-winning stand-up comedian, panel show participant, best-selling author and production company owner to his CV. He is one of the few performers to host successful comedy shows in both the UK and Ireland at the same time, and is currently touring the UK with his latest sell out stand up presentation, Voice of Reason.

This year the Awards will be held at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel on 13 December 2018 and nominations can now be made in the ten open categories, from which FTA's independent board of judges will select winners. The categories are:

These awards are truly the blue riband event of such an important sector, and as one of the nation's most important business organisations, the FTA is delighted to have secured the services of such an acclaimed entertainer to host this prestigious evening.
