UK – Novadata, based in the UK and Eire, has been providing haulage industry related training courses for over 18 years together with a full range of tachograph back up equipment and supplies, and now due to excessive demand the company has slotted in an extra CPC information day to arm those in the industry with full information on the new Driver CPC Regulations.

The Driver Certificate in Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is one of the biggest changes in the transport industry since the LGV driving test was introduced in 1969. The EU Driver CPC Directive came into force on the 10 September 2008 for all bus and coach drivers and on the 10 September 2009 for all truck drivers in the UK. Drivers must undertake 35 hours of periodic formal driver training, effectively five full days, over a five-year period in order to retain their licences.

For those who have not yet started their 35 hours of periodic training, the time left now is three years for coach drivers and four years for lorry drivers and the seminar is aimed at drivers, owner drivers and any road transport, haulage, bus or coach company employing drivers or running a fleet of vehicles as part of their business.

CPC courses often frighten staff who fear the unknown driver examinations, Novodata’s seminars are designed to ensure compliance whilst reassuring applicants that the courses are not difficult and involve no written work or examination.

The free information day will take place at the company’s head office, Novadata, Blackwell Drive, Springwood Industrial Estate, Braintree, Essex CM7 2QJ on the 1st September 2010 between 10am and 1pm. Anyone wishing to attend or who requires more information can contact the company on 01376 552999 or email:
