Freight Carriers And Suppliers Have a Chance to Clean Up an Award

Annual Energy Saving Trust Competition for Those Who Have Made the Effort
Shipping News Feature

UK – Regular readers will know how keen we at the Handy Shipping Guide are when it comes to promoting cleaner, safer freight transport and one of the ways to do so is recognising companies and individuals who have made special efforts to cut their, or their customers, fuel consumption and emissions using whatever technology or systems are available to them.

Once again the Energy Saving Trust is about to begin its search for the country’s Fleet Heroes: organisations that have made a successful contribution to reducing their carbon footprint through their travel and transport policies over the last year; or have supplied products or services which help their customers reduce carbon emissions from their car and van fleets.

If you have made any efforts to reduce your, or anyone else’s, impact on the environment you simply need to explain initially, in 250 words or less, why you feel entitled to entering a competition which will raise your profile and make a positive contribution to your brand. There are eleven categories this year ranging across the public and private sectors and the very best ideas and achievements will be showcased at the Fleet Hero Awards 2011.

To see full details of the categories and to download an application form just click HERE. When complete simply e mail the completed form to Fleetheroes@est.org.uk by the 20th September 2011. Qualifying applicants will be notified by Tuesday 27th September 2011 and invited to submit a second, more detailed application by Friday 14th October 2011.

Categories range from Business Mileage and Van Fleet Management through Innovation in Services, Systems and Manufacture so there is a category that will suit your organisation if you have made an effort to reduce the impact of the freight and transport sector on the environment.
