CHINA – UK - WORLDWIDE – Having recently obtained a controlling interest in two groups of companies in China; Shanghai Wisdom Group and Shanghai Huicheng Logistics (HCL), Hong Kong based Asian specialists Kerry Logistics has acquired two freight forwarding companies in the UK; Bergen Freight Forwarding Limited, based in Manchester and Regency Forwarding Limited headquartered in Yorkshire.

Bergen is a long established company, specializing in sea freight imports from India and the Far East which Kerry say will help to strengthen its freight forwarding capabilities in the UK and Europe. Regency was established in 1979 and has its main office in Yeadon near Leeds Bradford Airport. The company offers airfreight, sea freight and international trailer movements for both imports and exports. Regency focuses on imports from the US and Asia and exports to international destinations giving Kerry extended coverage of Yorkshire and North Eastern England.

The two Chinese acquisitions bring the NVOCC Wisdom group, one of the top three ocean freight consolidators shipping between Shanghai and the Japanese and South East Asian markets plus HCL’s expertise in dangerous goods carriage and integrated logistics into the Kerry Empire.

Spokesmen for Kerry Logistics were confident that the influx of expertise into both Eastern and Western sectors of the group would demonstrate the group’s commitment to building up a more comprehensive global network.
