London International Shipping Week Conference Programme Announced

UK – London International Shipping Week (LISW) is well attended by interests from around the globe and the operation can claim that its one day Conference is seen as one of the most important and influential shipping industry events anywhere in the world. Building on this year's overarching theme of 'International Trade in a Changing World' the full list of speakers has now been announced.

Attended by some of the highest level government and industry leaders, this year’s attendees will consider the LISW agenda’s sub-themes, 'Growing’, ‘Innovating’ and ‘Partnering’, and reviewing the impact on international trade of a host of influences including global economic pressures, sanctions and protectionism, Brexit, smart technology, regulation and the environment.

Moderated by Paddy Rodgers, Director and Chairman, International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation Fund and Former CEO, Euronav, the confirmed LISW19 Conference speakers include a host of influential figures from every facet of the industry and beyond. Patricia Scotland QC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth; Bud Darr, Executive Vice President, Policy & Government Affairs, MSC Group; Andrian Dacy, Managing Director, CEO & CIO, Global Transportation Group J.P. Morgan Asset Management; Alastair Marsh, CEO, Lloyd’s Register; Sarah Kenny OBE, Vice Chair, Maritime UK, Chief Executive, BMT Group, and many others.

The one day event, held on the 12th September, will consist of four sessions:

  • Welcome and Opening Keynotes, including a discussion on the viability of the incoming IMO Sulphur Cap
  • Growing New Markets and New Business, Trade tensions and the effect of the contemporary global political currents
  • Innovation and Sustainability, the industry response to moral and commercial realities
  • Innovation in Trade and Shipping Finance, the call for new funding models in a world of technological and climatic changes
The conference will run from 09:00 to 17:00 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, 86 - 90 Park Lane, London and be followed by the LISW19 Champagne Reception & Gala Dinner from 19:30 till late. Tickets and details can be seen HERE.
