INDIA – Finnish handling equipment supplier Konecranes has announced it has received an order for two environmentally-friendly reach stackers from Maersk CFS, Chennai, India.

The AP Moeller-Maersk owned subsidiary is currently equipping its new container freight terminal, its fourth such development in the country.

The equipment has the capability to lift containers of up to 45 tonnes in the first row and over 30 tonnes in the second and is fitted with Konecranes own fuel economizing system to maintain emissions and fuel consumption at optimal levels.

Once again the Indian subcontinent is proving to be a bright spot in the development of the logistics industry globally. This order follows the news of the recent delivery of 6 Liebherr mobile harbour cranes to the West Bengali port of Haldia reported recently.
