Major Distribution Contract for Northampton Haulier

C Butt Will Fulfil Netto Foodstores Logistics Requirements

UK – Long established Northampton haulage firm C Butt Ltd have signed a contract with Netto Foodstores to handle the retailer’s distribution needs for the next five years.

Netto have almost 200 outlets spread across the country and Butt’s will service the contract from distribution centres in Daventry and Pontefract. The deal will come as a relief to the 150 workers currently employed by the current logistics providers who will be retained to maintain the service.

The agreement has necessitated the purchase of 63 new articulated lorries plus 96 reefer trailers in which C Butt have invested £9 million. In a statement Mr Karl Hodgkinson, Operations Director of the Northampton based haulier, said the contract was a testament to the dedication to quality and subsequent steady growth of the company over many years.

Mr Charles Kay, Managing Director of Netto expressed delight at the new arrangement, “As Netto continues to go from strength to strength, it is vital that we employ first class logistics solutions to support this growth, he said, “Over the last few months, we've worked very closely with Karl and his team to secure this contract”.
