MOL Confirm New Container Shipping Route Changes  

CSW Service to Take in Extra Ports

ASIA – SOUTH AMERICA – SOUTH AFRICA - In line with their recent policy of optimising all routes container shipping giant Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) yesterday confirmed the changes to their Asia East Coast – South America Service (routing via South Africa) known as CSW, effective with the sailing of the "MOL Dignity" Voy. 4510AB from Xingang, with an estimated departure date of the 25th March.

The revised port rotation is:

Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Pusan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Durban, Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Paranagua, Sao Francisco Do Sul, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Ngqura, Singapore, Hong Kong and Xingang.

This means an additional call at Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Pusan and Shanghai.

MOL General Manager, Liner Division T.K. Konishi said of the announcement:

"This change is in line with MOL’s strategy of expanding one of its core trade lanes. We are pleased to announce that MOL covers Bo Hai Bay ports, Pusan and Shanghai by the revamped CSW. Not only our customers in East Coast South America trade lanes, but also in Europe, North America as well as Intra Asia trade lanes, will benefit from the transport to and from these ports, which have growth potential, by our faster transit and punctual service via CSW."
