MV Patriot Released by Pirates  

German foreign ministry spokeswomen confirms the safe release of crew.

SOMALIA - Germany's Foreign Ministry confirmed Tuesday that the captured German vessel MV Patriot had been released.

Pirates captured the Maltese-flagged MV Patriot on 25th April in the Gulf of Aden about 150 nautical miles southeast of the Al-Mukalla.

Local reports suggest that a ransom had been received by the pirates and the vessel owned by PATRIOT SCHIFFAHRTS GmbH of Germany with all crew was released near Eyl.

The crew of the Patriot, mostly made up of Ukrainian nationals were unharmed.
