FRANCE – The long established freight forwarding group, Martin Bencher, whose pedigree dates back to the UK in 1881before becoming a force in the Chinese market from their new base in Denmark over a decade ago, opened a new Marseille office today. The new venture is headed up by Mr. Floris Schorsch who has a background in project forwarding having previously led that department for container shipping giant CMA CGM from their own Marseille headquarters.
Peter Thorsoe Jensen, CEO and CFO of the Martin Bencher Group said of this, the latest development in a series of new offices opened worldwide over the past few years:
“The French office is a joint venture benefitting from the extensive network, expert knowledge and the numerous references of Martin Bencher Group. Mr. Floris Schorsch has 13 year background in shipping, including over 3 years as Manager of the Project Cargo department in CMA CGM. This combination of knowledge and experience will give Martin Bencher Group in Marseille an excellent opening into the local market.”
Floris Schorsch is clearly pleased with the prospect of a new challenge, saying:
“The opening of the French office is an answer to the market requirements. France is the world’s 5th largest economy and many industrial shippers are among the world leaders in their respective markets. The Martin Bencher Group is already dealing with French customers in many countries, but up to now not in France directly. This will change with opening an office in Marseille today”.
