UK - The new drivers CPC standard will come into effect on the 10th of September. The qualification will be obligatory for any vocational drivers of vehicles over 3.5 tons unladen weight.

The new Certificate of Professional Competence will be required for all new drivers before they qualify, and existing drivers will have to undertake the necessary 35 hours of retraining every five years.

According to BIFA, the penalities for failing to comply with the new legislation will be similar to driving without a licence and shall be enforced from day one.
