EAST ASIA / WESTERN USA – The New World Alliance (TNWA), which is TNWA is composed of shipping lines Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), APL and Hyundai Merchant Marine, is to add the Thai port of Laem Chabang to its Pacific Southwest Express (PSX) service so as to now provide a freight container link between Thailand and California.
The new service will be available from the 15th of March and will be made possible by the addition of the vessel MOL Solution 107E, a 5896 TEU container vessel.
The revised port callings on the PSX will be: Laem Chabang - Cai Mep (Vietnam) - Hong Kong (China) - Yantian (China) - Los Angeles (US) – Oakland (US) – Tokyo (Japan) – Xiamen (China) - Hong Kong (China) - Da Chan Bay (China) - Laem Chabang.
In addition to this change MOL today announced service changes in its Japan – U.S. West Coast & Canada service with a joint operation by MOL and “K” LINE.
Starting on April 7th, the "JAS" service will be a shuttle service between Japan and Los Angeles / Oakland with five ships. It will provide faster transit times from the States to Japan, while shifting calls at Tacoma and Vancouver to a new "PN1" service.
The "PN1" (Pacific Northwest 1) service will directly connect China, Taiwan and Japan to ports in the Pacific Northwest with six ships.
The new services are planned as follows:
JAS (with MOL to operate 3 ships and "K"LINE to operate 2 ships) Kobe (Tue/Wed) - Nagoya (Thu/Thu) - Shimizu (Fri/Fri) - Tokyo (Sat/Sat) - Los Angeles (Tue/Sun) - Oakland (Tue/Wed) - Tokyo (Mon/Mon) - Kobe (Tue).
PN1 (MOL to operate 1 ship and "K"LINE operating 5 ships) Xiamen (Thu/Thu) - Hong Kong (Fri/Fri) - Yantian (Sat/Sat) - Shanghai (Mon/Tue) - Nagoya (Thu/Thu) - Tokyo (Fri/Fri) - Tacoma (Sun/Wed) - Vancouver(Wed/ Thu) - Tokyo (Mon/Tue) - Nagoya (Wed/Thu) - Kobe (Fri/Fri) - Kaohsiung (Mon/Mon) - Xiamen (Thu).
