Shipping News Feature FRANCE – With third party logistics group Ekol experiencing sustained growth in France since August last year, which has seen demand for their services almost double, the Turkish headquartered company has announced opened two new branches in the country, identifying both Paris and Lyon as key areas for expansion. Tuğrul Sarıkahya, Country Manager France, said:

“One branch is in Paris where we will mostly be concentrated on national and international distribution. The facility has a 1,600m2 warehouse, truck parking for 20 vehicles and a heavy truck garage that could facilitate the maintenance of trucks. It will also manage the railway connection between Paris and Sete and even develop more connections with the north of Europe.”

The second branch in Lyon will primarily act as a freight forwarding agency linking into Ekol’s European network and it will also offer specialised cross docking operations and express services. The facility has a 2000m2 warehouse and will also have its own customs service.

“The goal of Ekol in Lyon is to create new traffic lines to Eastern and Southern countries in Europe,” added Sarıkahya.
