UK – Warwickshire based Cooper Specialised Handling (Cooper SH) has announced it is ending its contract with Baumann, the Italian company which produces specialist sideloader trucks, to concentrate on a dedicated service as agents for the port and freight terminal equipment produced by the Finnish Konecranes group.

Konecranes, whose product range includes rubber tyred and rail mounted gantry cranes as well as overhead and lift truck equipment, appointed Cooper SH as sole agents several years ago for its fork trucks and last year the two began cooperation on port equipment supply and maintenance. As a result, it is now concentrating its efforts in what the company considers a dynamic marketplace whilst continuing as a supplier of heavy lift trucks for industrial clients.

Cooper SH’s Managing Director, David Cooper explained:

“We already enjoy a dominant market share for reach stackers thanks to our relationship with Konecranes. It makes sense for us to invest all our efforts in markets where we are recognised as brand leader and we can deliver a real value-added service. We are very proud of our previous association with Baumann, but we believe that the ports and terminal market offers the greatest opportunity for future, sustained growth. We have a good relationship with Baumann and will continue to provide ongoing support for existing customers operating Baumann trucks, including maintenance, servicing and spare parts supply.
