FRANCE – US – Further to our story last month details of the sale of French freight forwarding, road haulage and logistics group Norbert Dentressangle to XPO Logistics have officially been released. XPO has acquired a 67% interest in Norbert Dentressangle SA, at a price of €217.50 per share which the purchaser claims pushes the group into the world’s top ten providers of transportation and logistics services with an annual revenue around $9.2 billion.

The purchase means XPO is now responsible for 52,000 employees at more than 850 locations across 27 countries, and it seems the iconic red trucks of Dentressangle, such a familiar sight on roads all over Europe, will be rebranded as WEAREXPO as per our photograph henceforth. The trucks, wearing their new livery, will also debut at the Grand Départ of the Tour de France this July, continuing a long-standing partnership as the official logistics partner for this renowned sporting event. Hervé Montjotin, Europe CEO and President of XPO Logistics and Chairman of the Management Board of Norbert Dentressangle SA, commented:

“We are very pleased to confirm the closing of the transaction announced in April. Thanks to the speedy completion of this acquisition, we can begin our integration as part of XPO Logistics without delay and fully commit to an ambitious business development plan, supported by a broader service offering and an expanded capacity for innovation”.
