UK – Hull-based shipping and logistics company, John Good Shipping has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Barry Clarkson as Head of IT. Clarkson will be responsible for leading John Good Shipping's IT Strategy and will provide technology leadership and vision for all areas of the business, as the company moves into a new phase of development and growth.

Barry has over 30 years' experience in the industry, including 20 years with the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education. Most recently, Barry was Director of IT and Systems Development at Bishop Grosseteste University Lincoln, where Barry was responsible for the strategic overview of the IT Services function.

UK – Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has promoted Paul Carmody as Managing Director of its Cargo Operations in the UK. Carmody worked as Head of UK Operations for WFS in the UK prior to his new role. He will report to John Batten, WFS's EVP Cargo, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

FRANCE – CMA CGM has appointed Olivier Casanova as Group Deputy Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, he will also serve as CEVA Logistics’ Chief Financial Officer.

SWITZERLAND – Edna Ayme-Yahil has announced her intention to step down as Corporate Head of Communications at Panalpina, effective immediately, in order to pursue other career opportunities.

CANADA – Cervus Equipment has announced Wendy Henkelman as an Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee.

US – Delta Cargo has appointed Rob Walpole to the newly created role of Vice President of Cargo Operations and Logistics, reporting to Shawn Cole, Vice President – Delta Cargo. Walpole joins Delta from DP World where he served as Chief Operating Officer – Global Logistics and Supply Chain.

In addition to Walpole's appointment, Matt Weisenburg and Mark DeFrancesco join Delta Cargo's leadership team. Weisenburg has been appointed Director - Cargo Strategy and Alliances, responsible for Cargo's strategic planning, including alliances, distribution, marketing and communications, product development and technology. Weisenburg brings experience from the commercial team and transitions into this role previously held by Lindsey Jalil who recently moved to another position within Delta.

DeFrancesco has been appointed Managing Director - Revenue Management, Capacity and Forecasting. He is responsible for optimizing revenue and delivering insights through best-in-class revenue management techniques, capacity and network management and forecasting. DeFrancesco joins Delta Cargo from Delta's Domestic Pricing team and brings nearly 20 years of revenue management experience

US – Away from appointments, Port of Oakland retired Executive Director Chris Lytle was awarded with the Containerization and Intermodal Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award, for his 53-year maritime career. Lytle stepped down in July after six years at the helm in Oakland. He had previously served as Executive Director of the Port of Long Beach.
